We will work on maneuvering our kayaks, forward and reverse, sometimes tightly, using a variety of maneuvering strokes, from basic to more advanced.   By "basic" I mean sweeps and static draws.  By "more advanced" I mean bow rudders, cross-bow rudders, low-brace turns and hanging draws.  I might even dream up some new ones.

I plan to set up some floats to paddle around or in between.  Maybe we can have a few races.  The point will be to have fun.  Good posture, torso rotation and paddling box will be really important to protect your shoulders from unnecessary wear and tear.

Strong edging will help all these maneuvers happen better, and a spray skirt will allow you to edge hard without filling your cockpit.

The park has parking close to the launch ramp and a restroom house suitable for changing, if you wish.

We should have cooler temperatures, but it could be hot.  I will monitor the weather for thunderstorms as we get closer to the time.  Dress for immersion.  Woodlands Township tell me that the water quality is monitored continuously and no one is allowed to go on the lake if quality becomes unsafe.  I use the lake often, including for rolling and rescue practice.

If I get another instructor I will increase the trip capacity.
