About this event
Sunrise is at 6:18 AM. We ask that you be at the Put-In at 8:30 Paddles wet at 9 AM $5 CASH to park and launch. Paddlers pay at the Bait Shop.
Directions to the Put-in: Put Delino's Yacht Basin" in your Navigation Device, you'll get there. Address provided in this Event Description. Take the Ferry or drive through Winnie & High Island, your choice.
Why so early Chris?? Cuz it's hot at 3 pm. Sun's up at 6:20 at the beach. Let's get an early start and enjoy the best part of the day.
Spray skirt kayak event. Don't have to have it around the coaming, just don't be without it please.
Meet in the parking lot, do not block the boat ramp. Make ready all gear & kayaks before launching. Pack water and snacks. Have a rain jacket handy. Temps in the high 80's, winds 10-11 from the South. We are mostly protected. Sunscreen, hat, you know the drill. Insect spray just in case at the boat ramp. Pay launch and parking with CASH please.
*Bring a fishing rod, with a trolling lure (soft plastic on lead jig head) AND a fishing license. Academy, Walmart or on line. If you want to fish but don't have a rod & reel, let me know.
Level 2 Trip Description: Expect to paddle 9-10 miles.
When off the water, let's regroup for a cold one and something to eat at Stingaree's.
Hazards: Early Summer conditions, Warm, slightly choppy waters possible. Trip Leader(s) may adjust the route at any time to favor the wind if necessary. Will only go if conditions are favorable. Cross the ICW "Intracoastal Waterway". Expect some light weekday boat traffic, mostly fishermen.

Guests – In order to provide event insurance for everyone, we ask guests or their invitees to provide $10 for each guest, each event for a one-time American Canoe Association insurance fee. Please consider joining HASK.
